A recognized veteran of the health information services industry, Jim founded Payerpath in January 1998 after envisioning a unique way of using the Internet to electronically file medical insurance claims that would provide quicker, more accurate claims processing and improved cash flow for hospitals and physician practices.
Brady has been responsible for overseeing Payerpath’s corporate growth and strategic direction, including the development of new business initiatives, partnerships and products. On February 1, 2006, Brady spearheaded the sale of Payerpath to Misys Healthcare Systems, one of the Top 5 Healthcare IT companies in North America. The new company will retain the Payerpath name and the business unit headquarters will now be in Richmond. This transaction will allow the company, now known as Payerpath, A Misys Company, to have a broader reach nationally and to be able to compete in the market on an even wider scale.
In addition to remaining as President of Payerpath, a Misys Company, Brady served on the Board of Misys Healthcare Systems as well as on the Operating Board of its parent company, UK-based Misys plc. After almost 2 years with Misys, Brady left the company in late 2007 and formed a management advisory firm called JBR Advisors, LLC.
Before founding Payerpath, Brady held various leadership positions in the healthcare technology sector, including vice president of sales for the healthcare division of National Data Corporation, NDC Health, and senior vice president for Health Communication Services (HCS), a firm acquired by NDC. While at HCS, he helped grow the company to one of the nation’s largest suppliers of healthcare electronic data interchange services to hospitals, physicians and insurance companies. He also served as district manager for Automatic Data Processing (ADP) in the mid-‘80s.
Brady, an avid soccer player, received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Richmond and lives in Richmond, VA.
